Ariana Milman, ND, LMHCA, bridges primary care, naturopathic philosophy, and behavioral medicine to assess and treat mental and physical health conditions that relate to stress and behavior. She provides strength-based care to support individuals and communities in living more vibrant and values-aligned lives.

Dr. Milman obtained her BA in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity at Stanford University. After working for several years in community organizing, sustainable agriculture, and environmental health and justice, she decided to study naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University. Because of her special interest in mental health, Dr. Milman chose to pursue additional training in counseling and graduated with an MA in Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University. She has worked as a counselor in a rural federally qualified health center as well as in a community college setting.

Dr. Milman’s medical and counseling training shapes her whole-person approach to patient care. Her treatment approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in the biopsychosocial model, which emphasizes the whole person and the biological, psychological, and social influences on our lives. She recognizes that systems of oppression—for example, racism, transphobia, anti-fat bias, and ableism—harm mental and physical health. Her style is to listen to patients’ experiences, reflect on their strengths, and partner with them to achieve their health goals.

In her spare time, Dr. Milman enjoys reading, spending time with her wife and their cat, being in nature, and engaging with movements for social justice.
